Job summary

Teaching Personnel are assisting a specialist SEND school in Brighton & Hove to recruit a Child Support Leader. The role centers on full-time support for SEND pupils across primary and secondary phases, prioritising 1:1 and small-group engagement and a compassionate, proactive approach to pupils with PMLD.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff, ensuring pupils feel safe, supported and engaged throughout the school day, with DBS checks required.

Qualifications

• PMLD/SEND experience is highly desirable.
• Patience and compassionate approach when supporting pupils.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support on 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Help pupils engage with learning and develop independence.
• Adapt approach to meet individual pupil needs, especially PMLD.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and other professionals.
