Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Sutton is seeking a compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school supporting children and young people with PMLD. You will assist with learning, communication, personal care, and daily activities in a nurturing environment.

The role offers term-time only, full-time hours with competitive daily pay and ongoing training. Experience with SEN is desirable, and you must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with PMLD, SEN, or complex needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD.
• Assist students with learning, communication, personal care and physical needs.
• Support pupils using Makaton and PECS where appropriate.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver personalised learning programmes.
• Support sensory activities and interventions to enhance engagement and development.
• Promote students' independence, wellbeing and social development.
