Job summary

GSL Education is recruiting a compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive special school in South East London on a full-time, long-term basis. The role supports students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, providing 1:1 and small-group assistance, personal care where needed, and collaboration with teachers, therapists and school staff.

• Experience working with SEN students.
• Understanding of PMLD and complex needs.
• Willingness to support personal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with PMLD and complex needs.
• Support students with learning, development and daily activities.
• Assist with personal care, including toileting and feeding where required.
• Support students with communication and sensory needs.
• Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other members of the school team.
• Build strong, trusting and supportive relationships with students.
