Job summary

Confidential is seeking School Support Workers to join a welcoming specialist SEND school in Bexley. The role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEND and assisting with learning and daily activities.

Ideal candidates will have experience in SEND, healthcare, residential or support-work environments, be comfortable with personal care, and able to work with non-verbal pupils. Timeplan Education administers the placement on a long-term basis.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional or complex needs.
• Comfortable providing personal care.
• Patient, compassionate and calm under pressure.
• Able to work with pupils with limited or non-verbal communication.
• Willing to mobility support following training.
• Experience in SEND, healthcare, residential or support-work environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEND.
• Support pupils with SLD, PMLD, physical disabilities and additional needs.
• Assist pupils to access learning and participate in classroom activities.
• Support pupils with communication, independence and social development.
• Provide personal care, including toileting and changing when required.
• Assist with mobility and positioning per care plans and training.
• Support during breaks and lunchtimes and school activities.
• Follow individual education, behaviour, medical and care plans.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other staff.
• Promote safety, dignity, independence and wellbeing.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries.
