Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant for a Wakefield SEND school. You will support pupils with complex needs across KS1 to KS4, providing learning support and intimate/personal care as part of daily activities.

The role is available for short or long-term placements with market-leading pay and ongoing CPD. You will work with a supportive school team and receive dedicated consultant support 24/7.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with complex needs.
• Previous experience providing intimate and personal care.
• Experience supporting pupils within a SEND or specialist education environment.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils across KS1 to KS4.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Wakefield that supports children and young people with complex needs across Key Stage 1 / KS1 through to Key Stage 4 / KS4. The school provides a supportive environment where pupils can access education alongside the individual care and specialist support they require.

The school is looking to take on a SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant for short or long-term work, supporting pupils with complex needs throughout the school day. The successful SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant will provide learning support alongside intimate and personal care, helping pupils access activities safely and promoting their independence wherever possible.

The successful SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with complex needs
• Previous experience providing intimate and personal care
• Experience supporting pupils within a SEND or specialist education environment
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Confidence supporting pupils across KS1 to KS4
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
