Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking SEND Teaching Assistants for a specialist setting in the DY14 area of Kidderminster, supporting young people aged 8-18 with complex SEN. The role focuses on day-to-day opportunities and long-term placements, primarily delivering 1:1 support under the guidance of teaching staff.

The successful candidate will have SEND experience, strong communication skills, and a patient, resilient, adaptable approach to meet individual pupil needs and help them access learning.

SEND Teaching Assistant

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £100 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND setting in the DY14 area of Kidderminster supporting young people aged 8-18 with complex SEN. The setting provides a supportive and structured environment where pupils receive personalised support to help them develop their confidence, independence and engagement with learning.

The setting is looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants for day-to-day opportunities, with long-term positions also available. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will primarily provide 1:1 support, working closely with teaching staff to meet individual needs and help pupils access learning and develop their personal and social skills.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting pupils with complex SEN
• Experience providing 1:1 support
• Confidence adapting their approach to individual pupil needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
