Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Rotherham. You will support pupils aged 2-19 with SLD, PMLD and autism, providing personalised assistance in line with EHCPs and working closely with teachers to deliver individualised learning moments.

The role is full-time and long-term, with PAYE payroll. You will join a dedicated team and access CPD courses through the My-Progression channel, along with market-leading pay and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD and/or autism is highly desirable.
• A good understanding of supporting pupils with complex learning needs.
• A patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A caring and adaptable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of complex SEND, including SLD, PMLD and/or autism, in line with EHCPs.
• Work alongside teaching staff to provide individualised support.
• Assist pupils in developing independence and functional skills within the classroom and school environment.

Salary: £92.63 - £117.65 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Rotherham, supporting pupils aged 2-19 with severe and profound and/or multiple learning difficulties. The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment with a strong focus on personalised learning, independence and preparing pupils for adulthood.

The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils with a range of complex SEND, including autism, severe learning difficulties / SLD and profound and multiple learning difficulties / PMLD, working alongside teaching staff to provide individualised support in line with pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD and/or autism is highly desirable
• A good understanding of supporting pupils with complex learning needs
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A caring and adaptable attitude
