Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Newcastle. The role provides 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with complex needs within an inclusive learning environment.

The successful candidate will have Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualifications, SEND experience, and strong communication skills. You will work closely with the class teacher and school team on a long‑term basis.

Salary: £100 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Newcastle that is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil. The school is seeking someone who can provide consistent, patient and individualised support within an inclusive learning environment.

The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, providing 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with complex needs. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support the pupil with their learning, engagement and individual needs while working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience supporting children with SEND and complex needs
• Experience providing 1:1 support within a primary school setting
• A patient and caring approach
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
