Job summary

Prospero Teaching are working with a specialist SEND school in Rochdale to appoint a SEND Engagement & Behaviour Specialist. You will support learners with complex needs, building trusted relationships, adapting communication to support learning, confidence and life skills.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, term-time, with a start date of 01/09/2026. You will be required to complete safeguarding checks and hold the Right to Work in the UK.

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay Rate: £550 - £750 per week (depending on experience)

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term time

We're working with a specialist SEND school in Rochdale that supports young people aged 11-19 with a wide range of complex special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and complex communication needs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist provision, helping learners build the communication, social and life skills they need to thrive.

About the Role

As a SEND Engagement & Behaviour Specialist, you'll support learners with complex learning needs, working within a person-centred, holistic approach rather than a traditional curriculum. You'll build consistent, trusted relationships with your learners, adapting your communication to support their needs, and helping them develop confidence, independence and life skills day to day.

• Have an enhanced DBS certificate already on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one


• Provide two professional references from child-related roles


• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
