Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEND Cover Supervisor in Rochdale to deliver pre-set work across subjects, ensuring a calm, inclusive environment and consistent behaviour management. You will collaborate with SEN teachers and support staff to help learners feel safe and engaged.

The role requires experience in SEND settings and a willingness to support pupils with EHCPs, autism, or complex needs in specialist school settings.

Qualifications

• Experience working in SEND or specialist school settings.
• HLTA qualification preferred and prioritised.
• Confidence in managing a classroom and supporting students with EHCPs.
• A calm, adaptable approach with strong behaviour management skills.
• An understanding of supporting pupils with autism, complex needs, or physical disabilities.
• A passion for inclusive education and promoting student independence.

Job Title: SEND Cover Supervisor

Area: Rochdale, Manchester

Start Date: Monday 14th September 2026

Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time

Salary: Competitive £130-£180 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

We're looking for a committed SEN Cover Supervisor to supportive specialist school settings where every child is given the opportunity to thrive.

About the role:

This role involves delivering pre-set work across a range of subjects, maintaining a calm and inclusive learning environment, and managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies. You'll work closely with SEN teachers and support staff to ensure learners feel safe, engaged, and understood.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working in SEND or specialist school settings
• HLTA qualification preferred and prioritised

To be eligible you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero.

Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
