Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND Cover Supervisor in Rochdale, Manchester. The role involves delivering pre-set work to students with complex needs in specialist settings and ensuring a calm, inclusive learning environment.

You will collaborate with SEN teachers and support staff to ensure learners feel safe, engaged, and understood; prior HLTA qualification is preferred. The position is full-time or part-time, with a 8:30am–3:30pm schedule and daily pay of 130–180 GBP depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working in SEND or specialist school settings.
• HLTA qualification preferred and prioritised.
• Confidence in managing a classroom and supporting students with EHCPs.
• A calm, adaptable approach with strong behaviour management skills.

We're looking for a committed SEN Cover Supervisor to supportive specialist school settings where every child is given the opportunity to thrive.

About the role:

This role involves delivering pre-set work across a range of subjects, maintaining a calm and inclusive learning environment, and managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies. You'll work closely with SEN teachers and support staff to ensure learners feel safe, engaged, and understood.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working in SEND or specialist school settings
• HLTA qualification preferred and prioritised
• Confidence in managing a classroom and supporting students with EHCPs
• A calm, adaptable approach with strong behaviour management skills
• An understanding of supporting pupils with autism, complex needs, or physical disabilities
• A passion for inclusive education and promoting student independence

To be eligible you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero.
