Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
  • Support pupils with a range of SEN and disabilities.

  • Develop and review IEPs and SEND strategies.
  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and implement interventions.
  • Provide guidance to teaching staff.
  • Ensure the school meets SEND statutory responsibilities.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Job description

Are you an experienced SENCO Teacher looking for a new opportunity in Rugby?

Winner Education are seeking an experienced SENCO Teacher to work in a primary school based in the Rugby area. This role will be a long-term placement, working 2 days per week, with pay rates from £180 to £260 per day.

The successful applicant will have previous experience working as a SENCO within a primary school setting, with a strong understanding of SEND provision and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, carers and external agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities

  • Work closely with class teachers to identify and meet individual pupils' needs

  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans and appropriate SEND support strategies

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies

  • Monitor and track pupil progress and ensure appropriate interventions are in place

  • Provide advice, guidance and support to teaching staff

  • Ensure the school meets its statutory responsibilities in relation to SEND

  • Contribute to safeguarding and the wider wellbeing of pupils

The successful SENCO Teacher will have:
  • Previous experience working as a SENCO within a primary school

  • A strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies and procedures

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • The ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals

  • A patient, nurturing and inclusive approach

  • Strong knowledge of a range of SEND, including Autism and complex needs

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience within a primary school setting

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
