Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd. is recruiting an experienced SENCO for a full-time, short-term placement at a primary school in the West Midlands. The role focuses on leading SEND provision and SEMH support for pupils with complex needs.

The successful candidate will hold UK QTS with a SENCO qualification (NASENCO or NPQ) or an equivalent leadership qualification, and have prior SENCO experience in a primary setting. This is a temporary agency placement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• SENCO qualification (NASENCO or NPQ for SENCOs) or equivalent leadership qualification with SENCO experience.
• Experience as a SENCO in a primary setting and knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the primary school.
• Support SEMH provision and oversee EHCPs, annual reviews and individual plans.
• Collaborate with staff, SEMH Unit and external agencies to support pupils with complex needs.
• Ensure SEND documentation and statutory processes are maintained and comply with safeguarding.
