TeacherActive Limited is partnering with a SENCO role at a primary school in Brierley Hill, Dudley, to recruit an experienced SENCO for a full-time, short-term placement beginning between November and December 2026.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK is required.
• SENCO qualification (NASENCO or NPQ for SENCOs) preferred.
• Alternatively, a senior leadership qualification with substantial SENCO experience.
• Experience as a SENCO in a primary setting.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and responsibilities.
• Experience supporting SEMH, SEND and complex behavioural needs.
• Experience managing EHCPs, annual reviews and SEND interventions.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Available for full-time temporary agency work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the primary school.
• Support SEMH provision and its development.
• Oversee EHCPs and annual reviews.
• Collaborate with teaching and SEMH Unit teams.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and learning needs.
• Monitor progress and evaluate SEND interventions.
• Provide guidance on adaptive teaching and inclusive strategies.
• Liaise with parents, local authorities and agencies.
• Ensure SEND documentation and processes are maintained.
• Contribute to SLT discussions on SEND development.
• Promote positive behaviour and safeguarding.
