Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead SEND provision across two secondary schools in Hayes. The role involves coordinating identification, assessment and support for pupils with SEND, and developing EHCPs and provision maps in collaboration with staff and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have SENCO experience in a secondary setting, knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Has proven SENCO experience in a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and current procedures.
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage priorities across two settings.
• Able to build relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across two secondary schools.
• Oversee identification, assessment and support of pupils with SEND.
• Develop and review EHCPs, SEND support plans and individual provision.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure effective classroom strategies and reasonable adjustments.
• Monitor pupil progress and evaluate SEND interventions.
• Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals.
• Coordinate referrals with local authorities and agencies.
• Advise staff on SEND strategies and best practice.
• Ensure SEND policies are implemented effectively.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and safeguarding processes.
