Smart Teachers are recruiting an experienced SENCO to join a high-performing secondary school in North London. The role leads on the strategic development of SEND provision and supports pupils with additional needs, working with staff, families, and external professionals.

The ideal candidate will hold NASENCO, have substantial SEND experience in a secondary setting, and be knowledgeable about SEND legislation and best practice.

Qualifications

• Experience leading SEND strategy in a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and guidance.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school's SEND strategy and provision.
• Oversee identification, assessment and support for pupils with additional needs.
• Manage and review EHCPs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure inclusive practice.
• Provide guidance and training on SEND strategies to staff.
• Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Monitor progress and evaluate SEND interventions.
