Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a part-time SENCo to lead SEND provision across our inclusive school, guiding strategy and policy while supporting pupils with EHCPs and SEN. This role is non-class-based leadership focused on strategic development.

You will line-manage SEN teaching assistants and pastoral staff, oversee annual reviews, and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice. The position is Tue-Thu, commencing Oct 2026 or immediate, with a salary up to 46,839 GBP FTE and a daily rate

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete / experienced practitioner.
• Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the SEND policy, graduated response, and school-wide inclusive practice.
• Statutory Compliance: Manage EHCP annual reviews, LA statutory assessments, and SEN register tracking.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with parents/carers, class teachers, and external agencies (Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language, CAMHS).
• Quality Assurance: Monitor interventions, evaluate pupil progress data, and report to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Governors.
