Smart Teachers are recruiting for an experienced and passionate SENCO to join a high-performing secondary school in North London. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEND professional to play a key role in shaping provision, supporting pupils with additional needs, and working collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.

The successful candidate will lead on the strategic development of SEND provision across the school, ensuring pupils with special educational needs and disabilities receive high-quality support and are able to achieve their full potential.

The role will involve:

• Leading and developing the school's SEND strategy and provision.
• Overseeing the identification, assessment, and support of pupils with additional needs.
• Managing and reviewing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Working closely with teaching staff to ensure effective differentiation and inclusive classroom practice.
• Supporting staff with advice, training, and guidance around SEND strategies.
• Liaising with parents, carers, external agencies, and specialist professionals.
• Monitoring pupil progress and evaluating the impact of SEND interventions.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
• Have significant experience supporting pupils with SEND within a secondary school setting.
• Have strong knowledge of SEND legislation, guidance, and best practice.
• Be an excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Have a passion for inclusion and improving outcomes for young people.
