Job summary

Northbridge Community School in Inner London is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead SEND provision from September 2026. The role is permanent and full-time, with a salary between £42,981 and £66,625 plus SEN allowance. You will work with a supportive SLT to shape and implement SEND strategy across the school.

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher with QTS, strong SEND knowledge and leadership, and the ability to collaborate with external agencies to meet statutory requirements.

The School

Northbridge Community School is a thriving, diverse secondary school with a strong reputation for academic achievement, inclusion and pastoral support.

The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language needs, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.

SEND is considered a whole-school priority, and the successful SENCO will have the backing of senior leadership alongside an established team of Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and specialist professionals.

The SENCO Role

As SENCO, you will have the opportunity to lead, develop and influence SEND provision across the entire school.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the strategic development of SEND
• Managing and reviewing EHCPs
• Coordinating annual reviews
• Ensuring statutory SEND requirements are consistently met
• Identifying pupils requiring additional support
• Developing targeted academic and pastoral interventions
• Monitoring progress and evaluating intervention impact
• Supporting teachers with inclusive classroom strategies
• Leading and developing the SEN support team
• Working closely with parents and carers
• Liaising with external professionals and Local Authorities
• Delivering SEND-focused staff training and CPD
• Advising SLT on SEND, inclusion and whole-school strategy

Who Are We Looking For?

You will be a qualified teacher with QTS and have strong experience working with pupils with additional needs.

The successful candidate will combine excellent SEND knowledge with strong leadership, organisation, communication and strategic thinking.

Above all, you will have high expectations and believe that additional needs should never limit a young person's ambitions.
