Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Cambridgeshire. You will provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs, including ASC, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.

We welcome applicants from education, care, or support backgrounds who are passionate about helping children reach their full potential. Enhanced DBS and Right to Work in the UK are required; driver is optional.

Qualifications

  • Desirable: experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
  • Patient, caring and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
  • Support the implementation of IEPs and other interventions.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress as required.

We are currently recruiting for a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across several schools within the Cambridgeshire area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Support students with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, SEMH, and other learning requirements.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Help pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other interventions.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress where required.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
Essential Criteria
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK.
  • Driver ideal but not essential
  • Ability to provide satisfactory references covering recent employment history.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
