Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across welcoming primary schools in Leicester for September 2026. Roles can be full-time or part-time, matching school hours 8:30am–3:30pm. You'll support pupils with diverse SEN, helping them achieve their potential in an inclusive environment.

The position offers flexible hours, long-term and day-to-day opportunities with dedicated consultant support and opportunities for free CPD and training.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a UK primary school is essential.
• Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
• Availability to work school hours (8:30am–3:30pm).
• Caring, patient and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• The right to work in the UK.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Encourage pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Help create a safe, positive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, teachers and parents.
• Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each child.
