Job summary

GSL Education in Leicester is recruiting enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in Leicester and the surrounding areas.

The role involves supporting pupils with SEN needs, 1:1 or small group support, helping create an inclusive and engaging learning environment, and assisting the class teacher with behaviour management and activities. A patient, nurturing approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care or support work experience welcomed)
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech & language difficulties and SEMH
• Work 1:1 with pupils or provide support within small groups
• Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
• Support the class teacher with behaviour management and learning activities
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
