Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Greenwich is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of special educational needs in a welcoming primary school environment.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with learning activities, and help pupils build confidence, independence and social skills, while working closely with teachers and the SENCO to adapt resources and strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, youth work or care setting.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs or a strong interest in SEN.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing demeanor.

We are seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of special educational needs within a welcoming and supportive primary school.

Your day could include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Assisting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs
• Supporting learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
• Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies
• Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in a school, nursery, youth work or care setting
• Has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, or a strong interest in SEN
• Is patient, resilient and nurturing
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential
