Protocol Education is looking for compassionate and enthusiasticEarly Years SEN Support Assistantsto join our team, supporting children withinMainstream primary schools in Lewisham.

These rewarding roles involve working closely with young children who require additional support to access learning, develop communication skills, build confidence and achieve important developmental milestones.

Whether you're an experienced SEN Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or have a background in childcare, we'd love to hear from you.

Your day could include:
  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs.
  • Assisting pupils with classroom activities to help them reach their full potential.
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction and emotional development.
  • Supporting positive behaviour through patience, consistency and encouragement.
  • Helping children develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and families to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil feels supported and valued.
  • Celebrating achievements and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
You’ll be supporting children with a range of additional needs, including:
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • ADHD
  • Global Developmental Delay
  • Sensory processing needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience working with children in a school, educational, childcare or SEN setting
  • Has experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), or a genuine passion for working within this area
  • Is patient, caring and resilient, with a positive and proactive approach
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is committed to supporting every child to achieve their full potential
  • Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of pupils
  • Is passionate about creating an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment
