Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. are recruiting a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a specialist primary school in Preston on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

You will support pupils aged 2-11 with a range of complex needs, including ASD, SLD and SLCN, helping them access learning in a nurturing environment. Working with teachers, therapists and families, you will deliver both group and 1:1 support, adapt activities to meet individual targets, and promote independence, communication and

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within a specialist or mainstream setting.
• Patient, resilient, and child-centered approach.
• Understanding of autism, communication needs, and complex learning difficulties.
• Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with complex SEN on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Assisting with personalised learning activities and interventions.
• Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence.
• Supporting sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists, and families.
• Promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
