Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a specialist primary school in Preston on a temporary-to-permanent basis. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to help pupils access learning and achieve individual targets.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small-group support, personalised activities, and promoting communication and independence for pupils with a range of SEN including ASD, SLD, PMLD, SLCN and other needs.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is required.
• Experience supporting children with SEN is preferred.
• Patience, resilience and a child-centred approach are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex SEN on 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Assist with personalised learning activities and interventions.
• Encourage communication, social interaction and independence.
• Support pupils with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Implement behaviour and communication strategies consistently.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists and families.
• Promote a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
