Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a specialist primary school in Preston on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role focuses on supporting pupils aged 2-11 with a range of SEN, including ASD, SLD, PMLD, SLCN and sensory needs.

You will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to adapt activities, support learning and meet individual targets, while promoting independence and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in specialist or mainstream settings.
• Patience, resilience and a child-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with complex SEN on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Assisting with personalised learning activities and interventions.
• Encouraging communication, social interaction and independence.
• Supporting pupils with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Implementing behaviour and communication strategies consistently.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and families.
• Promoting a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
