Job summary

Teaching Personnel, on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Preston, is seeking a dedicated Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role involves 1:1 and small group support, assisting with differentiated lessons, and promoting social, emotional, and academic development for pupils aged 4–16 with EHCPs and diverse needs.

Candidates should hold Level 3 TA qualification, have SEN experience, display resilience and teamwork, and be willing to undergo

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children with SEN.
• Caring, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist teachers with engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
• Promote positive behaviour and help pupils reach goals.
• Support pupils with communication, independence and personal care when required.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider school team.
