Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in schools across Halifax. You will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them achieve both academically and socially within a positive learning environment.

The role involves providing 1:1 and small group support, assisting with implementing IEPs, and collaborating with teachers and SENCOs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
• Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
• Support students with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Encourage independence, confidence and personal development.
