Job summary

Protocol Education in Halifax is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in local schools. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to help students access lessons and build confidence.

A patient, empathetic approach and strong communication are essential. Qualifications are beneficial but not required, with full training and ongoing development offered.

Qualifications

• Patience and empathy when supporting pupils with SEN.
• Strong communication with pupils, parents, and staff.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced school settings.
• Experience or willingness to work with diverse needs (ASC, ADHD, SEMH).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
• Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
• Support students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
• Encourage independence, confidence and personal development.
