Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students in Key Stages 3 and 4 at a specialist school on Wirral. The role offers 1:1 and small-group support, with a focus on SEN, SEMH and EHCP targets to help pupils develop communication, social skills and independence. Immediate start for a term-time, full-time position.

The school emphasises nurturing environments, safeguarding, and collaboration with teachers and families to promote student progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in SEN or SEMH settings.
A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
Confidence supporting behaviour and individual learning needs.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
A Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent relevant experience, is desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
Support students with SEN and SEMH needs.
Help implement EHCP targets, learning activities and personalised interventions.
Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and wellbeing.
Encourage communication, confidence, social skills and independence.
Work closely with teachers, families and external professionals to support student progress.
