Job summary

Reeson Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a Warrington primary school in the WA1 area. This full-time, long-term role starts ASAP with potential to secure a permanent position.

You will work with pupils with SEMH and PLMD, helping them access learning, build confidence and regulate emotions within a structured classroom. You will collaborate with the class teacher to tailor activities to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, PLMD, SEN, or additional learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH, PLMD, and additional learning needs.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication, emotional regulation, and engagement.
• Work closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Use a calm, patient, and consistent approach when supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Help create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence, social skills, and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families where appropriate.
