Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support mainstream primary schools in Burnley, Accrington, Great Harwood and Clitheroe.

Roles include 1:1 support for EHCP pupils and working with children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other learning needs. Substantial opportunities exist across the region, with roles varying between 1:1 and small-group support, in SEN units or specialist classrooms attached to mainstream schools.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Patient, resilient and caring, able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Able to work 1:1 or in small groups
• Experience in education, SEND, care, support work or related setting

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP
• Support children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs
• Work within SEN units or specialist classrooms attached to mainstream primary schools
• Help pupils access learning through adapted activities and interventions
• Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence
• Collaborate with class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
• Create a positive, consistent and nurturing learning environment
