Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Trafford is seeking a dedicated SEN Classroom Assistant to support pupils aged 4-11 with SEND. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, helping learners access activities, develop social skills and achieve EHCP targets, under teachers and therapists.

A caring, patient approach and strong teamwork are essential. The role offers term-time, full-time hours with competitive weekly PAYE pay, and access to CPD courses and career development opportunities through Teaching

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in education, care, youth work or support settings.
• Patience, empathy and resilience are essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
• Ability to stay calm and proactive in a fast-paced school environment.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
• Assist pupils in accessing classroom activities and the wider curriculum.
• Support delivery of personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Help pupils develop communication, independence and life skills.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
