Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a large specialist school in the Thornton-Cleveleys area for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This well-established specialist provision supports children aged 4-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), PMLD, sensory needs and complex medical needs.

The role involves 1:1 and small group work, supporting communication and personal development, and helping

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, disabilities or additional needs.
• Ability to remain calm, patient and nurturing in challenging situations.
• Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant care/support experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support.
• Supporting pupils with communication, learning and personal development.
• Assisting with sensory activities and structured interventions.
• Encouraging social, emotional and academic progress.
• Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils with personal care where required.
• Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
