Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal Year 5 pupil in a welcoming mainstream primary school in Ripley. The role is part-time, mornings only, from 8:30am to 12:30pm, starting September 2026 and running until July 2027.

You will help the child communicate, engage with classroom activities and foster a positive learning environment, working closely with teachers and the inclusion team.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 TA desirable.
• Experience supporting non-verbal children or pupils with communication needs.
• Experience delivering effective 1:1 support within a school environment.
• Ability to make activities accessible, engaging and enjoyable.
• Patient, positive and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a non‑verbal Year 5 child in a welcoming mainstream primary school in Ripley. The role is part‑time, five mornings per week from 8:30am to 12:30pm, beginning September 2026 until July 2027. The successful candidate will help the child communicate, engage with classroom activities and enjoy positive learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a non‑verbal child across the school day.

Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
• Experience supporting non‑verbal children or pupils with communication needs.
