Job summary

TeacherActive is assisting a welcoming school in Chesterfield to find a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The role involves supporting pupils in lessons, delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

You will work closely with class teachers, promote positive behaviour and build confidence, with a focus on KS1 and the primary curriculum, in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging learning activities, provide tailored support and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being
• Help pupils build confidence and independence
• Work closely with teaching staff
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 1 / KS1
• A strong understanding of the Primary Curriculum
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be beneficial, although applicants with strong school-based or transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
