Job summary

Monarch Education in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Northfield is seeking flexible SEN Teaching Assistants to join a pool for ad hoc supply across key stages. Roles include 1:1 and small group support, following EHCPs, and assisting with personal care where required.

This is ideal for individuals seeking flexible hours, with both part-time and full-time options, and a chance to gain experience across SEN settings while making a real difference.

Qualifications

  • UK-based experience supporting individuals with SEN (education, care, residential or similar)
  • A flexible, reliable and proactive approach
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different environments and pupil needs
  • Calm, patient and nurturing attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience supporting autism and complex needs (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or visual communication strategies (Desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with learning, communication and sensory needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support

Hours: part-time and full-time options available
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Temporary, Flexible


Applications must include UK-based experience supporting children, young people or adults with SEN (education, care, residential or similar settings).

  • SEN Teaching Assistants (TA’s)

  • Care Assistants

This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking flexible, ad hoc work, whether you are looking to supplement existing work or gain further experience within SEN settings.


About the School

The school supports pupils with awide range of complex needs, including:



  • Moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD)

  • Complex communication and interaction needs

  • Social, emotional and behavioural needs

  • Physical disabilities and medical needs

Your Role

As part of the supply team, you will provide essential support across the school on an ad hoc basis. Responsibilities include:



  • Supporting pupils with a range of learning, communication and sensory needs

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support

  • Following EHCPs and personalised support strategies

  • Using visual timetables, structured routines and communication aids

  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour approaches

Essential: Experience supporting individuals with SEN (education, care, residential or similar)
