Job summary

Monarch Education in Sheldon, South Birmingham, is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to start September 2026. The role supports children with additional needs academically and emotionally in an inclusive environment.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, assisting with tailored learning plans and promoting social, emotional, and behavioural development. Training and CPD opportunities are available to grow your skills in SEN education.

Qualifications

• Experience providing 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN
• Patient, empathetic and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA) are desirable but not essential

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive and inclusive school in Sheldon, South Birminghamfrom September 2026. • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting preferred)


• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach


• Strong communication and teamwork skills


• Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations


• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) are desirable but not essential
