Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a SEND school in Tunbridge Wells to recruit a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis. You will support children both 1-1 and in the classroom, providing personal care where needed and assisting with tasks tailored to individual learning plans.

The role requires experience with SEND, ASD and SEMH, confidence managing challenging behaviour, and a patient, adaptable approach. Onboarding is straightforward with dedicated Consultant support and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential.
• Experience supporting children with ASD and SEMH needs is required.
• Confidence supporting challenging behaviour.
• Experience working 1-1 with children on individual tasks.
• Willingness to provide personal care where required.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND schools in Tunbridge Wells who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant. The school supports children with a range of additional needs, including Autism / ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, supporting children both 1-1 and within the wider classroom environment. The successful Teaching Assistant will be expected to provide personal care, support children who may display challenging behaviour and work closely with pupils on individual learning tasks.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting children with ASD and SEMH needs
• Confidence supporting challenging behaviour
• Experience working 1-1 with children on individual tasks
• Willingness to provide personal care where required
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
