Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Northolt, West London. You will work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to provide targeted support for pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and participate in class activities.

Ideal candidates will have previous SEND experience, particularly with autism and communication challenges, and hold an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism and communication needs preferred.
• Be confident providing 1:1 and small-group support.
• Adapt activities to meet individual learning and communication needs.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and independence skills.
• Use a calm, patient and positive approach to behaviour and engagement.
• Be comfortable supporting pupils with varying levels of need.
• Work with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
• Understand safeguarding requirements.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• As a SEND Teaching Assistant, support pupils individually and in small groups.
• Help pupils access learning and manage their individual needs.
• Support development of academic, social and life skills with the SEND team.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists and other professionals.

TeacherActive is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school based in Northolt, West London.

The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Staff work closely together to provide highly personalised support, helping pupils develop their communication, confidence, independence and engagement with learning.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and the wider SEND team to provide individual and small-group support. You will help pupils access learning, manage their individual needs and develop important academic, social and life skills.

Responsibilities and Requirements
