Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a fantastic SEND school in Bromsgrove to recruit dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants. This welcoming and well-resourced setting supports children and young people of all ages and abilities, providing an inclusive, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.

The school is looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
• Flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Team Teach, Makaton or other relevant training would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

The school is looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start available. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with students with a range of additional needs, including Autism / ASD, Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD, Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, supporting both academic progress and personal development.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Team Teach, Makaton or other relevant training would be advantageous
