Job summary

TeacherActive invites applications for a Teaching Assistant at a SEND school in Wiltshire. The role is full-time and temporary, with 5 days per week until half term, starting ASAP. You will join a multidisciplinary team to support pupils aged 10-16 with EHCP plans and SEN needs.

The position offers market-leading pay rates (£14.25–£16.00 per hour, PAYE) and ongoing CPD through the My-Progression channel. A supportive staffing structure is in place for onboarding and ongoing development.

Qualifications

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a co-educational SEND school in Wiltshire supporting pupils aged 10 to 16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan / EHCP. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with SEMH and behavioural difficulties, alongside needs including Autism / ASD, ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication Needs / SLCN and attachment profiles.

The school is looking to appoint 2 Teaching Assistants on a full-time, temporary basis, working 5 days per week until half term in the first instance, with the potential for the placements to continue long term. The successful Teaching Assistants will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support pupils with their learning, engagement and personal development, providing consistency and helping young people build confidence and resilience.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Experience working with Autism / ASD, ADHD, SLCN or attachment needs is desirable.
• The ability to support pupils with individual barriers to learning and engagement.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
