Job summary

Reeson Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a partner secondary SEN provision in Stockport. You will support pupils aged 11-19 with SLD, PMLD, autism and complex needs, helping them access a dynamic curriculum that promotes independence and essential life skills.

The setting provides a safe, inclusive environment where each pupil is valued. This is a full-time, long-term role starting immediately, with ongoing professional development and strong school teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (e.g., SLD, PMLD, autism, or complex medical needs).
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing behaviours that challenge.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other team members.
• Level 2/3 SEN/education qualifications preferred but not essential.

Pay Rates: £14.25 TO £16.65 per hour

Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday

About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner secondary SEN provisions in Stockport. This well-established specialist setting supports young people with SLD, PMLD, autism, and complex medical needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils aged 11-19, helping them access a dynamic curriculum that promotes independence, communication, and essential life skills.

The school creates a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to thrive. Staff here recognise that every child is unique, taking time to understand behaviours and uncover their root causes, ensuring each pupil feels valued and supported.

The setting celebrates diversity and inclusion, providing opportunities for students to build friendships, develop social skills, and engage in activities that prepare them for adulthood.

This is a full-time, long-term SEN Teaching Assistant role starting immediately, where you'll play an important part in building confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging for these incredible young people.

What we are looking for in an SEN Teaching Assistant

• Previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs (e.g., SLD, PMLD, autism, or complex medical needs).
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing behaviours that challenge.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other team members.
• A proactive attitude and a passion for helping young people reach their potential.
• Relevant qualifications in SEN, education, or childcare (Level 2/3 preferred but not essential).
