Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience is useful, although candidates with transferable experience from childcare, youth work, care, mentoring or similar environments may also be considered.
• The right SEN Teaching Assistant will be comfortable following professional guidance, adapting their approach to individual pupils and maintaining clear safeguarding expectations.
• A calm, observant and consistent approach is important.

This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity is suitable for someone who enjoys building consistent relationships with pupils and helping children access learning in a way that works for them.

SEN Teaching Assistant Role

• Salary: £80-£100 per day
• Location: Portsmouth
• Start: ASAP
• Setting: Primary schools and specialist SEN provisions

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you may work 1:1 with an individual pupil or support small groups depending on the needs of the school. The SEN Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers and SEN staff to provide structured support throughout the school day.
