Job summary

Oasis Academy Mayfield is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support teaching staff and enhance learning for pupils. You will help plan, prepare and deliver lessons, create supporting resources and ensure pupils receive pastoral support.

You will contribute to tracking progress, giving feedback to teachers, and fostering an inclusive environment. A minimum of 3 GCSEs (C or above) and empathy are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths.
• Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
• Experience supervising classes and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes.
• Good written and verbal communication with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff.
• Empathetic and understanding to the needs of students.
• Ability to build good relationships with children and adults.
• High expectation of behaviour and ability to challenge without confrontation.
• Empower children to access all areas of the curriculum and to achieve their maximum potential.

Responsibilities

Job description

Oasis Academy Mayfield currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.

Job Overview

You’ll be responsible for assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You’ll contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met.

Job Requirements

• A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
• Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
• Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
