Job summary

Oasis Academy New Oak is seeking a dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to support learners with differentiated needs in a structured environment. You will help ensure SEN learners reach their full potential while maintaining an inclusive, positive learning culture.

The role emphasizes experience in specialist SEN provision, strong organisation and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex behaviours. Term-time only, 39 weeks per year, 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • NVQ/VRQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • GCSE Maths and English A*-C (9-4) or Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 on the NQF or equivalent.
  • Experience leading in a specialist setting, resource base, or SEN provision.
  • Empathetic, patient and tolerant demeanour.
  • Key organisation and communication skills.
  • Experience with managing complex behaviours and helping SEN learners to achieve.

Job description

Oasis Academy New Oak currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant.

Job Overview

You’ll have an enthusiasm for supporting learners with differentiated needs, providing learning support with a positive and inclusive outlook, and managing sometimes complex behaviours within a structured learning environment to ensure differently-abled learners can reach their full potential.

Requirements
  • NVQ/VRQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent.
  • Maths and English GCSE grade A* - C / 9-4 or Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 on the NQF or equivalent.
  • Previous experience leading in a specialist setting, resource base, or SEN Provision.
  • Passion and commitment for supporting learners with specific needs.
  • An empathetic, patient and tolerant demeanour.
  • Key organisation and communication skills.
  • Experience with managing complex behaviours and helping SEN learners to achieve.
