Yorkshire and Humber/ temporary / £90 - 100 per day

SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant (PMLD/SLD) - *Moving and Handling Training is an essential to be considered for this role!*

About the School:

This Special School is a dynamic and caring secondary school and post-16 provision for students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and severe learning disabilities (SLD).

The Role:
As a key member of the teaching team, you will:

Develop and deliver engaging, person-centred educational programs tailored to the needs of students with PMLD and SLD.

Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and support staff, to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Foster a nurturing and safe classroom environment that encourages students to grow in confidence and independence.

Support students in their communication, mobility, personal care, and life skills development.

Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure a holistic approach to the student's education and well-being.

Engage in continuous professional development to keep up-to-date with best practices in special education.

About You:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with complex learning needs. You will have:

Experience working with students with PMLD/SLD, ideally in a special school or similar setting.

A person-centred approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals, students, and families.

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

A strong commitment to professional development and learning.
