Job summary

TeacherActive is supporting a primary SEND school in Northfield, Birmingham, rated Good by OFSTED. The role is temporary with potential to become long term for the right SEND Teaching Assistant. You will support primary pupils with PMLD/SLD and work closely with the class teacher to tailor support and promote engagement.

Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable, with experience in PMLD/SLD, and strong behaviour management, patience and teamwork are valued traits.

Qualifications

SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Northfield, Birmingham
Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £90 - £105 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a primary SEND school in Northfield, Birmingham, which has been rated Good by OFSTED. The school promotes an inclusive and nurturing environment, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including PMLD and SLD.

The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a temporary basis, with the potential to become long term for the right SEND Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting primary aged pupils with mixed needs, working closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support, manage behaviours, and encourage engagement in learning.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
• Experience working with children with PMLD, SLD or additional needs
• A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
• Patience, resilience and a calm approach
• A can-do attitude and willingness to support across the classroom
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
