Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Castle Bromwich. Start date September 2026.

The role is full-time in KS1, supporting children with a range of additional needs and delivering tailored interventions to keep pupils engaged throughout the day. The successful candidate will have Level 2/3 TA qualification or equivalent, experience with SEN (KS1), and strong communication and behaviour management skills.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within KS1.
• Strong understanding of supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Can-do attitude and willingness to support across the classroom.

Responsibilities

Salary: £95 - £110 per day

The school is looking to take on a full time, long term SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a KS1 classroom. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping to deliver tailored interventions and ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within KS1
• A strong understanding of supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• A can-do attitude and willingness to support across the classroom
